CID cover art

Há uns tempos, a revista Clinical Infectious Diseases anunciou um concurso para cover art editor (soubesse eu alguma coisinha de história da arte e dominasse o inglês, e teria concorrido...assentava-me que nem uma luva). E fez muito bem! O resulto é interessante e digno de divulgação:

Reproduced with permission.This engraving, titled “Woman with Scarlet Fever,” is from a French textbook of diseases with dermatologic manifestations that was written by Baron Jean Louis Alibert (1768–1837). The style of her cap identifies the woman as being from Normandy. Alibert, who was a physician at the Hôpital Saint-Louis, is considered to be a founder of the specialty of dermatology. The engraver is M. Choupard. The book was published in 1833 and is in the collection of the Bibliothèque de la Faculté de Médecine, Paris, France. (Ann Arvin, Cover Art Editor)
